  6. State Certifications: HAVA Title III Compliance • 6 States have certified to the EAC that they have complied with all the requirements in Title III of HAVA – American Samoa – Florida – Kentucky – North Carolina – Oregon – Pennsylvania

Audit Resolutions • 26 Audits Resolved during FY 2007 – 9 Office of Inspector General Audits • $10,466,237 repaid to State election funds for questioned costs, missing state matching funds, and lost interest • $68,403 repaid to U.S. Treasury – 17 State Single Audits • $1,390,722 repaid to State election funds for questioned costs, missing state matching funds, and lost interest • $90,000 repaid to U.S. Treasury

Language Accessibility Program • Glossary of Key Election Terminology – English/Spanish released April 2007 • 1,843 terms and phrases used in election administration • Culturally and linguistically appropriate translations – New glossaries coming in Summer 2008 • Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Tagalog

  9. National Voter Registration Act • National Voter Registration Form was the most downloaded file from the EAC website

National Voter Registration Act • Every EAC meeting since September has contained NVRA issues on the agenda • EAC received public comment on whether to transfer previously adopted NVRA regulations from Federal Election Commission • Created framework, with timeline, for NVRA rulemaking process
