About eHGI The eHGI represents a political and strategic commitment to address eHealth care goals by: supporting as a platform for technical & political cooperation between European countries on eHealth; removing barriers to the deployment of eHealth; driving the importance of the deployment of ICT in healthcare; setting priorities like: eID semantic interoperability minimum/maximum data set of medical records others 2
The initiative… … deals with cross -border interoperability in the field of eHealth; … acts as a driving force to facilitate decision making at national level; … develops guidelines and recommendations for European Nations; … thereby considers outcomes of other projects closely related to eHealth (epSOS, STORK, Digital Agenda, etc.). 3

Political goals The overall objective of the initiative is… ‚… to contribute actively to the shaping of the eHealth political agenda at EU level, with a specific focus on interoperability. Member States aim at achieving Interoperability and increasing the quality and efficiency of care by strengthening their cooperation at High Political Level to get support in how to deploy eHealth services also across borders. ‘ The Art. 14 Networks mission: ‚The Network will bring together the national authorities responsible for eHealth on a voluntary basis to work on common orientations for eHealth. The eHealth Network is expected to translate the results of numerous research projects and pilot projects into real-life accessible services for European citizens.‘ 5
