The overall reforms made in the Armenian Police resulted in the establishment of the State non ‐ profit organization “Educational Complex of Police of the Republic of Armenia” in 2011 which comprises:
Academy Faculty of Law Distance/Part ‐ Time Learning Faculty Chair of Criminal Law and Criminology Chair of Theory of State and Law and Faculty of Police Troops Command Constitutional Law Chair of Criminal Procedure Chair of General and Police Troops Tactical Training Chair of Administrative Law and Police Administrative Activities Master’s Program Unit Chair of Criminal Intelligence and Forensic Science Chair of Civil Law and Civil Procedure
Academy Faculty of Law Citizens of the Republic of Armenia under the age of 30, who hold a secondary education certificate and have done compulsory military service (for male applicants), as well as acting police officers under the age of 35 holding a police junior ‐ level position for no less than a year, are eligible to apply for the state ‐ funded program. The overall duration of the program is 4 years. Distance/Part ‐ Time Learning Faculty The overall duration of the program is 5 years. Police officers who hold a secondary education certificate and have at least 2 years of policing experience are eligible to apply. Master’s Program Unit The overall duration of the full ‐ time and part ‐ time (off ‐ budget and state ‐ funded) programs is 2 years and 2 and a half years respectively. The admission is carried out through interviews.

College The overall duration of the program is 2 years. Citizens of the Republic of Armenia under the age of 30, who hold a secondary education certificate and have done compulsory military service (for male applicants), as well as acting police officers under the age of 35 holding a police junior ‐ level position for no less than a year, are eligible to apply.
Training Center Basic Vocational/Professional Training Unit General preparedness cycle Special preparedness cycle
Training Center Citizens of the Republic of Armenia under the age of 30, who hold a secondary education certificate and have done compulsory military service (for male applicants), as well as possessing personal qualities, health condition and physical preparedness that allow to perform police duties, are eligible to apply for the basic vocational training program with the qualification of “Police NCO”. The overall duration of the programs is 3 and 6 months.
Main objectives for organizing and implementing the educational process at the Training Center are: meeting an individual’s demand for professional education and qualification in accordance with the state educational standards ensuring the development and increase of overall level of preparedness of police officers involved in refresher courses, and students involved in professional training.
The Training Center also offers: Qualification raising courses for entry ‐ level police officers Based on the vocational education program, off ‐ budget courses with the qualification of “Security Guard” and “Bodyguard” designed for private organizations and civilians Off ‐ budget special training courses designed for the employees of organizations carrying out special statutory duties.
ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE In order to coordinate the admissions process, an admissions committee is formed in accordance with the order of the Chief of Police, comprising 7 members, 3 of them being police representatives and 4 of them being representatives of governmental and non ‐ governmental or international organizations.
Faculty of Training and Attestation 1. Offers refresher courses for acting police officers having the following goals: improving professional skills of acting police officers • implementing best practices • building practical skills • raising awareness on new legislation, government decrees, Police Chief’s • orders and amendments made therein achieving operational objectives in a timely and accurate manner • 2. According to the Armenian Law on Police service, police officers holding managerial, senior ‐ level and mid ‐ level positions are liable to compulsory training every 5 years and officers in the special civil service every 3 years.
Target audience of the Faculty of Training and Attestation Operational police officers dealing with criminal investigation and juvenile matters Community police officers holding mid ‐ level positions Road police officers holding senior and mid ‐ level positions Civil Servants holding managerial, leading and junior positions in the police special civil service
Heads and deputy heads of police battalions, platoons, as well as senior inspectors and inspectors of service from relevant police units Police experts holding mid ‐ level positions Officers holding mid ‐ level positions in the Police Passports and Visa Department and its territorial divisions Police officers of the General Department of State Protection and Patrol Service Correctional officers of the operational units of the Armenian Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service Officers of the operational units of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Military Police
Educational ‐ Methodical and Development Department Organizes, coordinates and supervises the educational process in the Educational Complex Creates semester schedules of courses of the Academy’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programs and of the College, as well as timetables of lectures for final year students enrolled in the Bachelor’s program before final exams Organizes Internships for the cadets of the Academy, College and Training Centre Coordinates the organization of final exams for the graduates of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, College and Training Centre
Schedules the organization of the educational process in the Academy and College as well as develops academic curricula for the Bachelor’s, Master’s programs, College and the Training Centre. Sets up academic workload for the academic year. Analyzes academic performance and absenteeism of the students. Controls the elaboration of syllabi and lesson plans, exam materials /exam tickets, questionnaires/. Controls the activities of the special and general libraries. Administers the Academy, College and Training Centre admissions.
Scientific Activities Division Supervises current planning and implementation of research and scientific ‐ methodical activities of the Chairs, gives support to the mentioned activities. Elaborates methodological guides, manuals on the law enforcement activities in the field of drug addiction and illicit drug trafficking for law ‐ enforcement and other concerned agencies. Summarizes the outcomes of the scientific activities of the Educational Complex. Organizes and coordinates the preparatory process, collection of articles, publishing, delivery and regular update of the scientific journal of the Educational Complex.

International Cooperation In the framework of international cooperation, partnership with foreign educational institutions towards mutual assistance and modernization of teaching methods, study and implementation of education models and new educational technology Cooperation with international and non ‐ governmental organizations in the Republic of Armenia Concluding bilateral and multilateral agreements and contracts with foreign police educational institutions
