WHAT ABOUT HOPE? ➢ Courses taken through Dual Enrollment do not apply to HOPE course limits. (HOPE applies to up to 120 credit hours) ➢ Dual Enrollment core courses receive a .5 quality point for HOPE GPA calculations
Steps of the Dual Enrollment process 1. Earn admission to the Dual Enrollment institution. 2. Complete the GA Futures Application online through www.gafutures.org 3. Meet with your Lambert High counselor to map out your courses and complete the Student Participation Agreement. 4. How Much Does it Cost to Participate?? Dual Enrollment Pays For: • Tuition (15 credit hours max per semester) • Mandatory fees • Required books What Will YOU Pay For: Course specific fees, i.e. lab fees ( typically around $50 for Natural Science Lab ) • • Art courses, language course, science course
Requirements to Remain as a Dual Enrollment Student To continue from semester to semester: • Students must maintain a minimum cumulative UNG GPA of 2.5 at the end of each semester beginning with the second semester of enrollment. • Students who earn less than a 2.0 in their first semester will lose eligibility for the program and may not continue.
UNG Dual Enrollment Student Expectations • Appropriate studying, time management & conduct • Spring Break (must follow UNG’s academic and holiday calendars) • Mandatory class attendance and importance of not being tardy (UNG Dual Enrollment absence policy) • Minimum cumulative UNG GPA of 2.5 • All grades earned at UNG transfer back as letter grades and figure into high school GPA as calculated by the high school counselor • High school IEP/504 and other plans do not automatically carry over without notification. Students with these plans are encouraged to seek assistance from UNG’s Student Disability Services office.
Update from Dual Enrollment to Traditional Freshman No need to reapply or pay application fee!! Two Easy Steps 1. Complete an Admissions Intent Form for Dual Enrollment students no later than June 1 st ! 2. Send in a current high school transcript Admission into the bachelor’s degree program as a freshman is extremely competitive and not guaranteed if a student is dual enrolled and wishes to continue at UNG as a freshman.

Free tuition, textbooks, and mandatory fees (course specific supplies, lab fees, & transportation ARE NOT INCLUDED) Students can attend classes 3 semesters per year (Fall, Spring, Summer) Students can take up to 15 credit hours per semester Dual Enrollment courses do not count against the future HOPE Scholarship/Grant cap hours Allows students a head start in the college experience and college credit Saves money towards a college degree No residency requirements
THE LANIER TECH ADVANTAGE LTC is Accredited by SACSCOC Students in grades 9-12 can apply LTC does not require a minimum GPA, SAT/ACT score, or a copy of your high school transcript for entry LTC has 5 campus (Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Barrow, Jackson) plus online class options LTC has 42 majors to choose from (Degree, Diploma, Certificate options) LTC offers 28 general education courses (Articulation Agreement with USG) Students can take academic college-level courses and/or career and technical courses LTC offers small class sizes

STUDENTS EXPECTATIONS Students: Are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and cooperative manner Are expected to attend all scheduled classes & complete assigned work on time (communicate with professor) Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA Must maintain a 67% completion rate Should be self-disciplined due to the rigor of college coursework Should dedicate a proper amount of study time to their coursework (GRADES STAY WITH YOU!) Are required to return books after each semester Will receive letter grades which will be submitted to their high school
