Global Cruise Industry Status Today • Cruise is one of the next part of travel and tourism industry due to recover • Nearly all onboard crews have been safely repatriated home globally • Nearly all cruise ships from main operators are currently: • In warm or cold layup in port or at anchorage around the world with only minimum safety manning (MSM) onboard • Under maintenance in dry dock • A few older ships sent to long term layup or scrappage based on efficiency and suitability for restart • Some new ships have been delayed as shipbuilding timeline disruption and requirements from ship owners • The industry remains under considerable pressure
MSC is the first major cruise to implement a health and safety protocol to enable a restart of operations based on delivery a safe re-imagined cruise experience that guests would enjoy and feel relaxed within.
