Case study singapore 1. Data visualisation of the year Charting Germany - Tracking a Nation's Changes Organisation : Zeit Online
Case study singapore For the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Zeit Online used the German General Social Survey, a survey collected by the Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences every 2 years since 1980. The survey asks Germans what they think about issues like family, politics, religion and foreigners. This graphic by Zeit Online visualises the answers from eastern and western Germans to 15 questions spanning from the early 1990s to 2012. Taken together, their attitudes paint a previously unknown picture of German reunification. This interactive storytelling completely based on data enables readers to explore the changing 'German Zeitgeist' of east and west since 1990 simply by scrolling. Used technologies : HTML, Javascript, Python. Credits: Christian Bangel, Julian Stahnke, Kim Albrecht, Paul Blickle, Sascha Venohr, Adrian Pohr

The data comes from the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism’s (START) Global Terrorism Database (GTD), which includes incident level data from open data sources around the world from 1970 to 2013. With over 3000 organisations listed, the team narrowed this down to just the top 25 based on those who account for the top 26% of incidents, inclusive of killings, woundings and other incidents.
