  2. Deltaport Terminal, Road and Rail Improvement Project • The Deltaport truck staging facility is one part of the Deltaport T erminal, Road and Rail Improvement Project (DTRRIP) • DTRIPP is to increase movements of containers by 600,000 TEU up to 2.4 million TEUs per year at Deltaport 2

  3. Overview • Located at the intersection of Highway 17, 17A and Deltaport Way in Delta, British Columbia • Joint partnership with the Government of Canada, the Province, and the Port Authority • Port Authority will operate the facility 3

  5. Purpose • Address long-standing road safety concerns • Alleviate traffic congestion when port destined container truck queues reach more than 15 container trucks in length along Roberts Bank Way causeway 5

  6. Project Benefits • Improve efficiency of the multimodal transportation network • Decrease the impact of port-destined container truck traffic on the local community • Reduce engine idling and congestion • Improve road safety 6

  7. Facility details • Capacity for up to 140 trucks, including early arrivals • Secure vehicle access gate • Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement area for truck safety inspections • Off-site construction of new cycling connections between Hwy 17, 64 Street and 28 Avenue 7

  9. Project Status • Phase 1 construction starts week of August 21, 2017 until December 2017 • Site prep and preload • Monday to Saturday • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. • Dump trucks delivering gravel and sand • Phase 2 anticipated to start in 2018 9
