We collaborated with the Women’s Caucus on the screening of Trapped in December 2016 • This powerful film addressed the impact of Targeted Regulation of Abortion providers on women’s access to abortion and healthcare. • Followed by a presentation of in-depth information on this and wider issues, related to women’s healthcare in the USA. Christa Bosch, then Chair of the Women’s Caucus Legislative Committee, and a member of the DAUK Executive Committee was one of the presenters.

The screening of The Case Against 8 June 2015 • Bob Ravelli, then Chair of the DAUK LGBT Caucus, discusses with Brandon Perlberg the history of the struggle for marriage equality. • Three days later, the Supreme Court ruled that that the fundamental right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples by both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. • And yes, we planned the Film Night around the date of the expected ruling!

For nearly 30 years, she has been directing and producing films about American history and culture with Ken Burns, including some of the most acclaimed and top-rated documentaries to have aired on PBS. Her films include PROHIBITION, BASEBALL, JAZZ, FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, THE WAR (About WWII) and THE VIETNAM WAR. Mick Gold is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. We previewed his episode of Inside Obama’s White House in 2016, and held an after-screening discussion with him and the Brook-Lapping team headed by Norma Percy.
