Date: 22 June 2011 Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC 2011 - Spa (B) - Presentation of Round 4 At Spa per for the fourth round of the Trofeo Maserati This weekend, the famous circuit of Spa will host the fourth round of the Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC. This is the second time that the single-make series has touched down in Belgium and follows the Zolder event held last season. David Baldi, the overall leader, will be trying to get back to winning ways after finding things tough in Hungary but will have to contend with Nicolò Piancastelli, buoyed by his one-two in Budapest. The victories have seen Piancastelli move into second spot in the championship. Venezuelan Gaetano Ardagna is another driver with title hopes as he now lies third. Also appearing will be Nick Catsburg, who turns out in the World FIA GT1 championship and in GT3. He will be sharing the drive with Mathjis Bakker. In the No.18 Radio Monte Carlo car will be Kris Wauters, the Belgian singer from pop group ‘Closeau’. Wauters has raced in the Trofeo Maserati three times: at Spa in 2005 he finished third with Sandor Van Es and, a year later, came home sixth partnered with Jean-Marc Couloumb. In last year’s race at Zolder he crossed the line third in Race 1 driving the Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo. Kris, together with brother Koen and other members, formed the
