Date: 16 June 2010 Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC 2010 - Zolder (B) - Presentation of Round 2 Kris Wauters will be at the Track in the Zolder Round It’s the second round of the Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC, which, after its debut in Monza, shifts beyond the Italian border to the Zolder circuit in Belgium concurrently with the WTCC (World Tour Car Championship). As with Monza, the Belgian round is apt to be very hard fought and uncertain. There are at least seventeen cars competing: thirteen GranTurismo MC Trofeo (run by Maserati Corse) and four GranTurismo MC GT4 presented by private teams that will race in a special separate league. Attached is a list of the drivers participating in the Zolder race (representing nine countries). The Goldstein/Sundberg duo may secure the first position, taking advantage of the absence of their adversaries, Rota and Villa, who will be skipping this race. The VIP racing guest will be Kris Wauters – the well-known singer from the Belgian pop group “Clouseau”– who boasts two appearances in previous Trofeo Maserati: in 2005 (when he got third place with Sandor Van Es) and in 2006 (with Jean-Marc Couloumb), both times in the Spa
circuit. In the 80’s Kris and his brother Koen, along with other musicians, founded the Flemish band “Clouseau”, which became famous in Belgium and Holland as well as in other countries with music and lyrics in English. They have often been on the top of the charts in the Dutch hit parade. As in all other Trofeo races, in Zolder Maserati is organizing a series of initiatives for its customers: commercial and marketing activities to promote the brand and product range. The customers particularly appreciate the track runs with the Master Maserati staff. Master Maserati is the Trident’s safe sport driving school. Eurosport will broadcast highlights of the Zolder race on Sunday night within their Motorsports Weekend program. The video clips will be available a few days after the races at www.thenewsmarket.com and www.maseraticorse.com. RMC (Radio Monte Carlo) is the Trofeo’s Media Partner. It will air two features dedicated to each round in their weekly RMC Motori program, in their Saturday special (12:30-1pm) or in their Sunday RMC Music & Sports program (2pm-6pm).
