Intermediate & Middle School Interventions By Utilizing our WIN (What I Need) periods, Title I Reading, and the CDT Diagnostic tool and the Fastbridge Literacy Test, the IS/MS has crafted a flexible and responsive Remediation and Enrichment Plan to address areas of concern. This plan continues to be coupled with curricular enhancements in Math (enVision 2.0 Program), ELA (Wonders), and curricular reviews in all areas. Over the course of three years, this plan has shown an overall increase in scores as well as an increase in cohorts surpassing state averages. Most importantly, we focus on connections and relationships. ● Intervention Specialist and Title I in Grades 4-6 ● PRIM Model in Grades 4-8 is being utilized as an intervention ● Review of Special Education Programming ● Once per cycle Homework Help ● CDT Test: Grades 6-8 are administered this test bi-annually in ELA ● Fastbridge Literacy Test: Grades 4-5 are administered this test quarterly in ELA ● By utilizing WIN for Remediation and Enrichment students can receive an additional amount of instructional time in ELA and Math. ○ Grades 4/5: 120 periods ○ Grades 6/7: 90 periods 5 ○ Grade 8: 60 periods
High School Interventions There is a clear need to refine and address what we are doing at the High School to meet the needs of the students. This year, we eliminated the Keystone Remediation Labs to create less of an impact to student schedules, and to promote a different approach to the way that we remediate and prepare for Keystone testing. Keystone Trigger Courses have been identified and now focus on a different instructional model, smaller class size, and co-teaching when available to help support the needs of the students. ● Targeted Remediation in course ● Variety to instructional approach (rotational model) ● CDT Administration Bi-Annually ● Continued utilization of USA test prep in Literature, Biology, Algebra ● Support of K-12 Supervisor of Instruction in classrooms for additional data ● Data focused conversations ● Different approach to assessment overall ● Student presentation on data and assessment ● Utilization of technology 6 ● Analysis of curriculum in course offerings
Special Education Initiatives ● READ 180/System 44 program training and coaching (focus on fidelity) ● Fastbridge Literacy/Math/Behavior universal progress monitoring (K-12) ● Weekly meetings with special education staff for fastbridge implementation and data analysis to drive individualized instruction ● District wide Professional development (supplementary aids and services (SaS), mental health, disability awareness) ● MTSS- Multi Tiered Systems of Support- tiered levels of support ● Social Skills focus group ● Intervention Specialist- Elementary/Intermediate School ● Special Education leadership team- Point of Contact (POC) at each building level, leadership role 7
