No 23 ~  Students have 3 years to achieve graduation starting at grade 10.  Students who do not achieve graduation by the end of the grade 12 year, will need to appeal to the district to seek permission, and if granted will complete their grad requirements at Central Programs and Services.

CHANGES TO UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS • Some Post Secondary institutions, such as UBC-O, are shifting from a program of study focus to a holistic look at a student’s high school experience. • Marks in English and other required courses are still important • These institutions want students with breadth – will be looking at overall average (grade 11 and 12) Required Courses + Course Load (6 grade 12 courses) + Extra Curricular (Personal Profile) = admission

  12. DUAL CREDIT PROGRAMS There are three pathways:  School Based Programs  BCIT or  Okanagan College Called Dual Credit because students get grade 12 elective credits and post secondary credits School District 23 pays the tuition (students responsible for other fees).

  15. RSS FIRE ACADEMY • The RSS Firefighting Program is a partnership with Joe Rich Fire Rescue. The program includes a Emergency Medical Responder course and a Fire Services Course. • For more information and/or to apply for the RSS Firefighting Program please see Mr. Volk.
