COSC as Parent Stakeholder Recent decision to have the Council of School Councils (COSC) serve as an official CBE parent stakeholder - letters at tables. Board plans to make a decision about what this would look like in December. Input gathered today will inform that decision- making. Update will be provided at Nov. 27 COSC meeting. 1
COSC as Parent Stakeholder COSC plays an important role at the CBE. That role is growing and expanding. There are different ways COSC could be involved as a stakeholder. COSC members who participate in this way would be a voice for all CBE school councils, not just their individual schools. 2
COSC as Parent Stakeholder Some of the ways parent stakeholders have been involved in the past: Participating on CBE committees such as remuneration or transportation committee. Providing input to government when requested. Attending public Board meetings. Providing input to CBE on initiatives that affect parents, such as fees review. 3
