BUT ARTISTS ARE A VULNERABLE POPULATION • According to FEMA, more than 40% of small businesses never reopen after a disaster, and for those that do, only 29% were still operating after two years • 75% had 3 months or less cash reserves * • 47% had less than one month’s cash reserves * • 62% had no property or liability insurance for their studios * • Only 38% regularly backed up critical data with off-site storage* *2013 CERF+ Study, Sustaining Creativity: 3,500 professional artists working in craft disciplines surveyed.
