Introduction What is Dadaism and what is Surrealism as individual art movements? What was the environment/society like before these movements (dadaism emerged in the middle of WW1) ? When did these start and how did it originate? Vaguely introduce some of the most iconic/memorable artists from each movement and how I’ll be discussing their work and impact later on the essay. Surrealism: “The Persistence of Memory”, iconic piece when the word “Surrealism” is mentioned, good way to represent the unique, bizzare nature of Surrealism.
