Official Measure AA Ballot Question Wildomar’s Public Safety and City Services Measure. To protect Wildomar’s financial stability/small-town character by maintaining and improving local police/fire protection/911 emergency response; improving traffic flow/safety including Bundy Canyon, Clinton Keith, Baxter roads; fixing potholes/streets; addressing homelessness; and other general municipal services; shall the measure establishing a one-cent sales tax providing approximately $1,700,000 annually until ended by voters; requiring financial audits, citizen’s oversight, all funds for Wildomar, be adopted? YES NO
What is the Issue? ― Over the last six years alone, Wildomar lost over $12,500,000 from Sacramento. This has caused the City to: ― Cut back on neighborhood police patrols ― Cut back on maintenance and upgrades of local streets ― Cut back on maintenance and upgrades of local infrastructure ― Wildomar does not have enough fire stations, firefighters and emergency paramedics to address the needs of our growing city. ― A majority of responses to 911 calls don’t meet emergency medical time standards.
What is the Issue? ― State takeaways has caused the City to reduce neighborhood patrols. ― More than 30% of Wildomar’s streets are rated ‘poor’, ‘very poor’, or ‘failed’ by independent pavement management engineers, with many additional streets still unpaved. These essential repairs and safety improvements may become more expensive over time.
Public Safety and City Services Priorities Include… ― Maintaining and improving local police and fire protection ― Preserving 911 medical response times ― Maintaining local streets, roads and potholes ― Requiring all funds be used in Wildomar
What Fire Safety Needs Does Measure AA Address? ― If enacted, Measure AA can help upgrade the City’s only current fire station and add more firefighters and paramedics.
