  3. Collaborative working between people with lived experience of mental health, those with professional experience, carers and the wider community. The goal of working together is to improve services and ensure we all help to provide the service that those who use it require.

  7. • Interview panel training – be trained by the PP team to sit on interview panels and help us recruit the staff you want providing the service • Audit and audit training – be trained to conduct audits on all of our wards and teams, ensure the service is up to the standard expected • Staff training – be supported to provide training to all our staff about your experiences and help provide a real insight in living with mental health • Nurse training – help the university of Bedford recruit the right kind nursing students and help train them throughout their degrees. • Recovery college workshops – free workshops available to all for further training as well as opportunity to co-deliver and deliver these workshops yourselves. • Quality improvement (QI) projects – join a project team and help support them using your own skills and understanding to enable staff to remain focused on recovery and inclusion, to act as a service user representative for all those currently using our service.

  8. • Everyone who works with the trust using their own experiences and expertise, be it as a carer or service user is entitled to payment for their time and reimbursement for their expenses. This is explained in the rewards and recognition strategy. • Everyone wanting to work alongside the trust needs to fill out a BACS form for their bank details so a direct payment can be set up (included in your pack). • After each piece of work you do a claims form needs to be filled out and returned to the relevant member of the people participation team (also included in your pack). • There are many opportunities and ways to be involved and involve others, the People Participation team will always try to find a way to involve every service user or carer in some way. • Everything we do is aimed at improving our service, this is a continuous process and is constantly being developed.
