  1. Clermont works during the April expert week CERN (2014 April 14-15) Romeo Bonnefoy and François Vazeille ● Deported HV system: Implementation in the Building 175 ● Mechanics: Comments ● Next expert week ? 1

  2. Deported HV system ● Implementation in the Building 175 HV Module HV Bus boards bus area and HV cables 4 Short HV cables 4 4 Long Round HV cables Connectors HV Crate HV HV DCS Prague Crate Electronics room 2

  3. Present option for the tests 3

  4. Prague HV Power Supply in Building 175 HV output #16 4

  5. DCS monitoring in Building 175 5

  6. 2 wrong channels  Bad round connector mounting - OK with  meter test. - Not OK with HV test  Short circuit destroying the 2 Zener diodes (channels 12, 24) of Opto card by using the Clermont-Fd HV Power Supply (and not the Prague HV). Too hard Clamping on Short cable #2  HV crate back to Clermont-Ferrand for repairs !  Improvement of the connector mounting.  System fully operational for the next tests with the Chicago/Stockholm readout for the investigation of noise levels with 20 m and 100 m long cables. 6

  7. ● Other comments ▪ Clermont- Fd making of a “load system” easy to connect replacing missing Mini-Drawers (1 to 4) in order to suppress the “under current protection" of the HV Prague source. ▪ Two additional difficulties to solve - Center-to-center distance in between the HV Bus fixation holes. 78 mm HV Bus card □ 78 mm on the Clermont-Ferrand drawings (given more than 1 year ago.) □ 80 mm on the Barcelona drawings and Mini-Drawers. - Present Patch Panel, not only too big for the Clermont-Fd Slider, but not enough space to slip the connectors through its hole  To machine holes close to the edge as foreseen by Clermont-Fd. 7

  8. Comments on mechanics ● Barcelona Patch Panel and Service tools not compatible with Clermont-Fd tools (Not new today!). ● No bearing screw on the Barcelona Slider  Strength fully on the Girder Rings Strongly screwed Clermont-Ferrand proposition (Several times explained) 8

  9. Next expert week ● New delivery of the deported HV system ready to work, supposing Patch Panel difficulties overcame ● Participation to the readout tests using this HV system, with comparisons with 20 m long and 100 m long cables, and also with the other system. ● Discussions strongly expected (before) about the mechanics. 9
