Next Steps: Implementation • Strategic Investment Plan requires a detailed implementation plan for both public and private projects • DRI Round 1 Experiences • DRI Round 2 Changes/Requirements • Meeting with City and stakeholders to discuss project implementation strategies to be included in Strategic Investment Plan • Key topics to address: • A review of various economic development organizational structures and their strengths and weaknesses. • Which organizational structures are best suited for achieving project success in Cortland? • Reinvent the wheel (formulate a new organizational entity) or leverage an existing organization? • How will approach differ for public v. private projects? Next Steps: Strategic Investment Plan • Finalize Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) • LPC Members were asked to review and provide feedback on these documents – which will be incorporated in the Final Strategic Investment Plan (March submittal to State) • Market Analysis • Downtown Profile and Assessment • State Review of Strategic Investment Plan • Final version of SIP will incorporate LPC feedback – as well as the results of all public outreach efforts and public meetings • State Announcement of Selected Projects • Announcement expected in June 2018
Questions Although this is the final LPC meeting, the DRI process is still not complete! We thank you for all of your help to reach this point – and we are very confident that this committee will help ensure the success of Cortland’s DRI!
