Thank you for your interest in applying for employment at the City of Bunbury. This document should provide you with a step by step guide on how to apply and help to solve any potential challenges you may have. Click on the vacancy you wish to view or apply for;
Once you have clicked on the vacancy you are interested in, a description of the position will appear. It is recommended to view the full Position Description before applying to see if you meet the requirements of the position. You can see the full Position Description by clicking on the Download PD button.
If this is not the position you wish to apply for click the Back to Jobs button which will take you back to the Vacancies screen listing the available vacancies. If this is the position you would like to apply for click the Apply Now button and this will take you to the application page. Important Application Tips • The City of Bunbury only accepts employment applications submitted through the Careers website, applications will not be accepted in any other format. • Please read through the questions before you fill in the questionnaire. • Take some time to prepare your selection criteria answers on a Word document, these can be copied and pasted into the boxes. There is no word limit so get creative! • We recommend candidates use a Personal Computer to complete their application as applicants who submit their application via Smartphones and Tablets can experience issues if their resume and covering letter is not available on the device ready to upload. • Prepare and save your covering letter and resume before applying. • We recommend uploading documents in PDF and Word format only. • Copies of certificates, referees and licences are not required at the application stage. • The system does not have any options to save your application to come back later so give yourself time and prepare your answers before you apply.
Fill in your details in the following order: First Name Last Name Address 1 Select your Country from the drop down arrow Select your State/Region from the drop down arrow Select your City/Suburb from the drop down arrow Add your Postcode Enter your Daytime and After Hours phone number (it is fine to list the same number) Confirm your email (please note a current email must be supplied as we use email as the main form of communication with our candidates)
You will then have all the fields completed which should look like this;
Then, answer the questions supplied and tick the check box options. If there is a selection criteria listed, address the selection criteria in the space provided (please see the important tips on the next slide for further information).
Important Selection Criteria Tips Take some time to prepare your selection criteria answers on a word document, the text can be copied and pasted into the boxes - there is no word limit so get creative! The questionnaire will display both Essential and Desirable Criteria. Please answer all of the questions displayed. There is a series of medical questions towards the end of the questionnaire. Please note that these questions are not used in the shortlisting and selection process. Panel members are assessing candidate’s selection criteria answer, resume and covering letters only. Please note that every box must have something written in the space. If you do not have any medical history you should type NONE in the space provided.
The final stage of the application process includes uploading your resume and cover letter. Click Browse and select the document you wish to upload; Key Points to Review Before Submitting • Check your application thoroughly, making sure all of the questions are answered before clicking submit. • Check for typing errors and spelling mistakes. • Please use good grammar in your application, the system will not auto correct or highlight your errors. • Allow yourself enough time to submit your application as we do not accept late applications.
Once you have reviewed your application, click Submit at the bottom of the page to submit your application. Once submitted, a message will be displayed stating that your application was received. To be certain that your application submission has been successful, check your email for a confirmation message. If your application submission is not accepted, a red * will display next to the question(s) that require attention.
