WHO WE ARE History • M’akola means “a safe place” in the Coast Salish languages • Established in 1984 as a non-profit society • Over 100 staff • Now seven societies, including MDS M’akola Board of Directors
WHO WE ARE Mission and Vision Our Mission To provide affordable and appropriate homes primarily for Aboriginal people on Vancouver Island, and to enhance community partnerships . Our Vision To provide homes* primarily for Aboriginal people, where they can have pride and feel connected to traditional values and a community.
