Turn in a complete Physical Form to the Ridge office. • Without doing these two things, your daughter may NOT participate in tryouts.
Behavior/Qualities of a Ridge Cheerleader • Cheerleaders are expected to be good ambassadors for Ridge Junior School • We feel strongly that cheerleaders should represent the school in a positive manner both academically and socially. • Failure to do so will result in being benched or dismissed from the squad
Time Commitment • Attendance is mandatory to games AND all practices • If there is a situation where your daughter must be absent, we need a note or email in advance although she may still have to sit for a quarter or more • Please schedule doctor appointments around cheer practice if possible
Summer Practices • Mandatory – Vacations will be excused as long as we have advanced notice of your absence. • Beginning June 19 th , practices will be on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Ridge. • In August, we added a few Monday practices to prepare as we get closer to games.
Season Practices • Practices will be once a week on Mondays once the school year begins. • Practices will be from 2:15 – 3:30 , but may end earlier as the season continues. • If needed, we will add more practices before the games begins. • Girls need to practice at home using the Instagram links we provide them. If they are not up to par, they may sit at the games until chants are memorized.
Grades/Eligibility • Low grades are not tolerated • Eligibility: – Every week the athletic department will run the eligibility for the week. – Per Lakota, students have to be passing FIVE classes in order to cheer that week. – Coaches are able to bench girls with one F at their discretion.
Games • Games are Thursdays • 7th grade: 4:30 • 8 th grade: 5:45ish • Home games are played here at Ridge • Girls will go home after school for home games and return for the games • For away games, girls will stay after school and ride a bus to the games but WILL NOT have transportation back.
Food for Away Games • For away games when girls stay after school, we will be looking for a parent volunteer to create a Signup Genius. • This parent will arrange pre-game meals for the girls to eat from 2:15 – 3:00 prior to the bus picking them up.
Fees/Cost • Fees to participate are $150. • You can pay online on EZ Pay or checks/cash/money orders should be made out to Lakota Ridge Junior School and on the memo line have cheerleading • Make sure you write your DAUGHTER’S last name on it if your last name is different from the name on the check. • Your daughter will NOT receive a uniform until fees are paid.
