CHATEAUROUX - 2016 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS TRIATHLON SPRINT AND AQUATHLON 1- A professional steering committee The Centre League of Triathlon boasts more than 1,600 license-holders and 2 000 day-pass users in 25 clubs in the 6 départments of the Centre region. The Centre League is on the podium as for the number of Major Federal Events organized on its territory: Triathlon and Duathlon Grand Prix, Junior and Elite French Championships, and French Clubs Cup, … In 2011, Tours welcomed -at very short notice- the European Youth Championships, and then in 2013 and 2014 Vierzon hosted a Junior European Cup. The quality of these organizations, both international and national, is unanimously recognized and the expertise of Centre League and its partner clubs is well established. Last year in Châteauroux, the European Junior and Elite Cup was a successful “ test event ” for the first European Championship Spint Elite. As a full-time employee of the Centre League, Dominique FRIZZA is entirely dedicated to the management of events and is fully conversant with the organization of international events. The local Club, T.C.C.36, is well established in the local community through, among other things, the women's team who compete in 1st Division Triathlon. It counts 130 license-holders and has sound prior experience in the organization of several major federal events which earned it general praise.

Date of the Event 2016 June 24- 26th 3 – A site suitable for triathlon Belle Isle has been a venue for triathlons of national scope for many years. In the heart of the city, the waterbody of Belle Isle allows water sports enthusiasts to practice their favorite disciplines on an 8 ha lake, surrounded by 12 ha of protected green spaces. It is also a monitored bathing spot with a beach where the start of the swim can easily be given. A restaurant, "La Guinguette", can accommodate receptions and cocktails with a privileged view of the lake. Very close to the waterbody, the following facilities can be made available to the organization staff for meetings (office and various rooms) and receptions: gymnasium - social hall - leisure and culture center - exhibition hall - bowling pitch – water park – large parking lots. Bike connections can be made either to the city center of Châteauroux for Elite races with a passage through the transition area, or to the campaign trail for Age Groups. The Run can be organized either on the natural site of Belle Isle for Age Groups or on surfaced roads for Elites with a passage on the race site.
