Aims of of the different model projects • Bavaria: support and train probation officers to recognise signs of radicalization and to deal with these offenders • Berlin: to build a network and find multiplier, support probation officers (consultation) • Bremen: support and train probation officers to recognise signs of radicalization and to deal with these offenders, workshops for political education • Hamburg: support and train probation officers to recognise signs of radicalization and to deal with these offenders, consulting service to develop new narratives with juvenile offenders • …and so on. Where do we we stand today (i (in Germany)? • many concepts, but only little experience with radicalized offenders in probation • a large number of actors and stakeholders in the field of prevention and dealing with these persons (a comprehensive overview is barely possible) – mega trend? • what works? – little siginificant empirical information • great attention to radicalized offenders – and the other 99 % of offenders? • do probation officers really need new skills to deal with radicalized persons?
