Electromagnetic Interference • Interference to garage door openers near military installations • Federal Communications Commission released Public Notice on issue on February 15, 2005 Explains cause of interference, openers operate at very low power on an “unlicensed basis” on frequencies reserved for the federal government since the early 1940s As unlicensed device, there is not right of protection from interference Companies are aware of risk, but chose these frequencies for their devices Interference will not cause garage doors to open or close on their own and wall-mounted push buttons are not affected • Consumers should contact manufacturer or local installer for available solutions
