Electromagnetic Interference • Interference to garage door openers near military installations • Federal Communications Commission released Public Notice on issue on February 15, 2005  Explains cause of interference, openers operate at very low power on an “unlicensed basis” on frequencies reserved for the federal government since the early 1940s  As unlicensed device, there is not right of protection from interference  Companies are aware of risk, but chose these frequencies for their devices  Interference will not cause garage doors to open or close on their own and wall-mounted push buttons are not affected • Consumers should contact manufacturer or local installer for available solutions
