Background � Using e- learning via Core Learning Unit - tracking by manual report • Mental Health Capacity Act - Joint promotion with local council - no tracking • Some blended learning incorporated in internal ‘Management Development Programme’ - no tracking � Medical Education (Induction) - not SCORM/ not tracked � Old E-Learning Strategy (2003) but not operational 4 Camden and Islington HR Services

Response from the staff is too much face to face mandatory training therefore we are offering the following initially: � Manual Handling Awareness � Mental Capacity Act � Fire Safety Awareness � Child Protection Awareness in Health � Infection control � Full Integration with with ESR self service/ RIO: � Sexual Health Services/ Business & Administration /HR Learning & development (300 staff) 6 Camden and Islington HR Services

  7. How will we judge success? � Pilot small numbers initially � Content evaluation � System evaluation � Completion numbers � Integration with culture (induction) � ESR local competencies � Manual report currently needed � NHS Litigation Authority Assessment 7 Camden and Islington HR Services

Human Resource Based L&D Strategy � Investment in staff knowledge and skills provides competitive advantage � However….investment in unique and expert skills, therefore generic skills via NLMS � Links with Provider competitive market � “Potential” savings can be re-invested in specialised development 9 Camden and Islington HR Services
