  6. Leaving Certificate Applied  Is a two year Leaving Cert. aimed at students who wish to follow a practical programme.  Is designed to meet the needs of those who are not adequately catered for by the traditional Leaving Cert

  7. Who would benefit most?  Students who are not adequately catered for by other Leaving Certificate programmes  Students who choose not to opt for those programmes.

  8. The Breakdown of LCA Programme The course is broken into 4 terms of work…… T erm 1 September to January of 5 th year T erm 2 February to June of 5 th year

What subjects will I be studying?  Vocational Preparation and Guidance  English & Communication  Agriculture & Horticulture  Hotel, Catering & Tourism  Graphics & Construction Studies  Mathematical Applications  Information & Communication Technology  Social Education  Gaeilge  French  Arts Education  Leisure & Recreation Not all of the above courses are of the same length

  13. Here the parents and LCA teachers sit down and enjoy the offerings. They are served and catered for by the students.

  30. Current Costs  Approximately € 500 for the year for Trips / Transport / Competitions / Modules  € 100 euro deposit when accepting a place.  € 200 euro in September  € 200 euro in February

  31. Assessment  End of Term Reports – Exams  TY Folder – Self Assessment in TY :  Trips, Speakers, Once off experiences, Project Work, Competition Results, Work Experience and examples of excellent work  School Certificate and Certificates of Achievement will be awarded for some modules.

  32. Procedure for Enrolment  Closing date for applications Wednesday 5 th April.  All students who apply will be interviewed  Fill out TY Application form and give back to Nicola.  Interviews will take place after Easter holidays.  You will receive a letter letting you know if you have a place in TY.  Fill out acceptance form and 100 euro deposit  Waiting list will be created.
