It’s important to stay safe in your daily life and when you go on your Brownie adventures! Complete these five steps to earn the award:

Step 1
Step 1 – Talk to a teacher, parent or another adult about how to stay safe at school. – Make a list of the 3 most important rules for playground safety or safety on the school bus.

Step 2
Step 2 – Get a map of your neighborhood or town. You can find maps online. – Mark where the police station, fire station, and other important points are located.
Step 3
Step 3 – Find out how a smoke detector works. – Test the one at your home so you know what it sounds like and to make sure it’s working. *warning* – it will be loud! Make sure you have an adult to help you.

Step 4
Step 4 – Choose an upcoming trip you plan to take. – Make a safety plan with an adult. – Find out what to do if a stranger approaches you in a public place.
Step 5
Step 5 – Find out what natural disasters are most common in your area. – Discuss with your family what to do if they happen.

That’s it! Share what you have done with your Troop! Write it down. Make a poster, make a video or slideshow. You can work on this with your troop in a Zoom call.
