Personal Impact of this Project I have a 22 year old son with Down Syndrome. • He required extensive school-based and privately funded speech • and language therapy services since very early childhood. We have been very fortunate to have worked with therapists that • encouraged our involvement as parents. • They recognized the importance of continuation of care in the home, since therapy does not just end at the end of a session. • I had a very positive interdisciplinary experience working on this project with SLPs. I am able to discuss the benefits of parent-provider collaboration • with other parents in my parent support/advocacy work. CA-LEND - Leadership Project - Brigitte Sroujieh 5
