Carinata Coverage • Yield Protection Only • Coverage by Written Agreement (WA) Only • A Special Provision under the Canola and Rapeseed Policy – Not insurable under the Mustard Crop Provisions Cultivars of Brassica carinata are eligible for insurance under the Canola and Rapeseed Crop Provisions and are not insurable under the Mustard Crop Provisions; however, Brassica carinata is only insurable by written agreement. 2

  3. Insurance Availability • Canola/Rapeseed Program Counties - Type/Practice WA – Written Agreement if you qualify – Due on or before the Acreage Reporting Date – 1/15 each year • Non-Program Counties – Written Agreement if you qualify – Due on or before the Sales Closing Date – 9/30 each year 3

  4. Canola/Rapeseed Program Counties Calhoun County, Georgia would be the Reference County* for any county written agreements from the southern part of the Valdosta Region *Reference County is used as source for rates, T-yields, planting dates and prices. 4

Written Agreement Application Requirements – Signed contract is an additional requirement for Carinata WAs – Farm, Tract, and Field Numbers – Name, location, and distance to market (may be on contract, if not must be on application form) – Normal plant and harvest dates – Irrigation practice – 3 years of similar crop experience in the county or area • Safflower, wheat, oats, rye, and other small grains – New Producer: Statement that producer has “never planted the crop in the county or area” 7
