  2. Remote Hearing have been implemented over the  past few weeks with Judges Manley and Sylva to help CJ involved individuals maintain stability in the community during the pandemic. We began conducting Remote Hearings for clients  in Dept. 60 and 61 who are connected to community based Mental Health Providers. Remote Remote Hearings have been effective in  encouraging and motivating clients to adhere to Hearings: treatment program requirements and reducing recidivism. Background We inviting all SUTS and MH partners with clients  in these two courts to participate in Remote Hearings. This will allow Treatment Providers the  opportunity to engage with these clients who might be struggling or need some extra support from the court while in court appearances are being waived during the pandemic.

Remote Hearings: FAQs  Remote Hearings are informal court sessions for clients to be virtually present on a digital platform – Zoom.  WHAT are Remote  Honorable Judges Manley and Sylva, Hearings? Public Defenders, Defense Attorneys, Behavioral Health Providers, and Behavioral Health Treatment Court Team are present.  The goal is to problem solve and motivate clients to promote engagement with their treatment providers.

  4. Remote Hearings: FAQs  Remote Hearings are currently held weekly on Tuesday afternoons from  WHEN are Remote 3:40 to 5pm. Hearings  We expect that this will be expanding in the near future

Remote Hearings: FAQs  Clients out in the community are currently having their appearances waived in the courtroom due to COVID-19.  Clients are not being remanded due to Zero  WHY have remote Bail. hearings?  Supervision is challenging for Pretrial, Probation and Parole.  Treatment providers are trying to utilize Telehealth  Remote Hearings can provide additional support and encouragement to our Criminal Justice involved clients in Department 60/61 in an effort to support treatment outcomes during this health crisis

Please attach the following:  1) Client Status Report (formerly TSR) and  2) Remote Hearing Summary which includes  some identifiers, the specific concern you want the judges to address and any client strengths the Judges can reinforce. Remote For example:  - Needs substance use treatment services Hearings: FAQs - Not medication adherent Continued - Angry outbursts + Went to a Zoom AA meeting + Reading books + Looking for work

  9.  In order to coordinate Remote Hearing Schedule for Judges we need all documentation by Thursday at Remote 5pm . This will allow us time to calendar and inform providers of the exact date and time of their scheduled Hearings: FAQs hearing. Continued  Questions?????
