Reading: Guided reading, Making Meaning (focused mini- lessons), Individualized Daily Reading (IDR) with reading responses, MyOn Word study (related to spelling): word work within reading workshop , discussions within guided reading (Grading: How are they spelling within their writing?) Writing: The Writing Process, writer’s notebooks, student self-assessment, and teacher assessment writing rubrics, google app comments
Social Studies: SOL Year • Virginia studies all year • Interactive Notebooks • Chapter Tests by Unit: Study information from notebooks & study guides that come one week before the test – keep and use to study for SOL! • Beginning to incorporate Project Based Assessments • Individual/Group Projects • Camp Flintlock and Richmond

LRES is beginning to implement a new behavior and wellness system called the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Responsive Classroom is used in all 4 th grade classrooms.
