Seasonal Intensive Monitoring: June 12-23,2017 ● Multi-agency effort throughout Chicago Area Waterway System ● Predicated by eDNA sampling ● 239 electrofishing runs (60 hours/12,306 fish) ● Four 800 yard seine hauls (2,763 fish) ● 53 net nights of trap netting (294 fish) ● 19 net nights of Great Lakes pound nets (646 fish) ● 273 gill netting (30.6 miles of gill net, 935 fish)
● Adult male silver carp captured on June 22, 2017 below T.J. O’Brien Lock and Dam, 9 miles from Lake Michigan ● 28 inches long, weighing 8 pounds and determined to be fertile ● Currently being examined by Southern Illinois University to learn more about the fish’s age and potential origin

Contract Commercial Fishing Electrofishing ● 1,950 person hours ● 43 miles of gill nets ● 365 electrofishing runs ● 91 hours of response efforts
Pumpkinseed Banded Killifish White Bass 20,665 fish representing 47 species and 5 hybrid groups were collected
