  3. The ACT has up to 5 components: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an Writing Test . ACT results are accepted by most four-year colleges and universities in the US.

  4. ACT Timeline Wednesday, February 28th, 2018: Homeroom ACT Presentation Thursday, March 15th, 2018: ACT Registration at Tartan. Students will fill out basic contact information, take an interest inventory, and choose 4 colleges in which to send their scores to. LINK IS ON TARTAN College Codes Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 all juniors at Tartan High School will be taking the ACT test free of charge at their high school. Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 : ACT Makeup day

  5. ACT Prep 1) Log on to MCIS >My Portfolio>College Entrance Exams>ACT Prep 2) Pick up test booklet from guidance office 3) Check out an ACT prep book from your local library

  6. Test Day: Come prepared

  7. Do’s 1. Get a good night sleep 2. Get here on time….you will not be allowed in late 3. Eat breakfast: we will have healthy snacks at break 4. Bring 2 or more #2 pencils to test day 5. Bring a calculator that is allowed: http://www.actstudent.org/faq/calculator.html 6. Bring a picture/school ID or summary sheet with your picture 7. Try your best. This test can open new doors for you!

  8. Dont’s 1. Bring your phone/Smartwatch into the room. This will invalidate your test immediately. 2. Give or receive assistance. 3. Use your calculator on any section but math. 4. Keep writing after time has been called or go back to a previous section 5. No food or drinks in room (snacks provided) 6. Use scratch paper
