What are Composites? • A composition of two or more physically and chemically different materials having significantly different properties, when combined produce a single material with characteristics totally different from its individual components. • Composites are thus a polymer matrix , reinforced with fiber which is either carbon, aramid, natural or glass fibre. The polymer matrix is either a thermoplastic or a thermoset resin.
