History Founded in 1965 by the State University of New York Board of Trustees, the College at Old Westbury began in 1968 at Planting Fields, the former Coe Estate and arboretum located in Oyster Bay, New York. In 1971 when construction of the campus was completed, the College moved to its present Old Westbury site - the estate formerly owned by agriculturalist, industrialist, sportsman and philanthropist F. Ambrose Clark.

Other Notable Facts Old Westbury’s Accounting program has an outstanding reputation for providing high quality instruction and solid CPA exam preparation. A greater percentage of students pass the CPA compared to public and private colleges in the NYS area. CPA is a valuable license that International students often seek in order to gain employment in prestigious multinational companies. Business - Finance, Management, Marketing, Administration are all popular majors at Old Westbury. The School of Business is known for its outstanding quality programs. Media and Communications- many opportunities for internships at local and national broadcast companies on Long Island and in NYC. We have a TV studio and radio station. International Students Services OIES assists over 70 international students each year. Our office helps to make transition to the USA. The OIES Advisor will get to know all international students by name (a lot of personal attention). SUNY tuition and fees Tuition : Undergraduate=$16,320 per year. Graduate: $22,210 per year Total costs : Undergraduate: $30,114 per year Graduate: $35,656 per year Scholarships We offer a limited number of full Residential Hall Scholarships for high achieving students. This is a $7,300 value.
