College of Arts and Sciences – Liberal Arts Education Advisor Responsibilities Student Responsibilities • • Post and maintain adequate office hours for advising Know the name of and how to contact your advisor • • Communicate with students in a timely manner Contact the department secretary if your advisor is through IPFW email and other appropriate means unavailable • • Share knowledge of IPFW, including department Check your official IPFW university email daily • policies and regulations Familiarize yourself with IPFW, including department • Explain program requirements policies and regulations • • Provide knowledgeable suggestions about realistic Understand program requirements for graduation • course load and selections Make your own academic decisions based upon • Refer students to IPFW resources, when needed information from advisor • • Discuss student organizations, research Seek academic help at first sign of needing assistance; your opportunities, leadership roles, or other activities advisor can also refer you to other appropriate university that will enhance your academic career resources • • Help students connect curriculum to post- Prepare for your post-graduation future graduation goals

College of Arts and Sciences – Liberal Arts Education Reading: ENG R190 Rhetorical Reading • ENG R190 Rhetorical Reading is the required if: • new SAT , a Total Score of 1020 or lower • old SAT , a Critical Reading score of 450 or lower • ACT , a Reading score of 19 or lower • Reading Placement Test , score of 003 • Also meets area B7 of the General Education requirements
