Young Alumni Volunteer Objectives Alumni volunteers play a vital role in establishing and maintaining active connections between alumni, students and the university. American University Alumni Association volunteers support university priorities by: • Serving as advocates and ambassadors of American University. • Hosting unique programming for recent grads needs and interests. • Mentoring current students and other young alumni. • Assisting students and alumni to find jobs. • Helping AU to recruit a competitive class of students. • Sharing AU news, such as AU’s strategic plan, inclusive excellence plan, and comprehensive campaign, with their own alumni networks.
Young Alumni Chapter Missions The Young Alumni Chapters foster a community of American University alumni in the DC and New York City metropolitan areas who have graduated in the last ten years. The Chapter Boards and supporting committees sponsor athletic, cultural, professional, service, and social events and work with other affinity groups to create meaningful programs to enrich the lives of young alumni.
