The purpose of this presentation is to explain the interpretations of each section on the Arizona Interscholastic Association Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop Score Sheets This presentation contains important information for the judging panel and current dance coaches.

DANCE SCORE SHEETS How are they broken up? • Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop • 100 points total • Choreography - 45 points • Execution - 55 points
POM What’s included in a Pom routine? • Dance based skills • Turns • Leaps • Jumps • Focus on strong and precise motions • Synchronization • Visual effects • May include pom passes and kick lines
JAZZ What’s included in a Jazz routine? • Stylized Routine • Traditional • Contemporary • Lyrical • Incorporate Various Approaches to Movement • Organic • Pedestrian • Traditional Modern • Traditional Ballet • Complements the lyrics and/or rhythmic value of music • Skills are technical and hard hitting but include moments of softness • Execution focuses on body alignment, control, and technique
