LTD. “Drying Tea Leaves in Kenya” • Provided efficient fan blowers to optimize drying of tea leaves in Kenya at the Kiamokama Tea Factory . • Impact : improved efficiency of operation, quality of tea leaves, energy savings of 60%, climate adaptation 6
Partnership with Japanese private sector • MAYEKAWA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD. “Cooling Technology for Juice Maker” • Provided efficient cooling technology to SirFruit Co., Ltd. a juice maker in South Africa. • Impact : Increased energy efficiency, reduced CO2, energy savings of 40%, improved production and quality, climate adaptation 7
Partnership with Japanese private sector • MEBIOL, INC. “IMEC - Film technology for vegetable and fruit cultivation” • Innovative technology enables farmers to grow plants even in the desert (less water) or lands damaged from sea water, by utilizing the hydrogel film which allows only water and nutrients to penetrate • Impact : Saving water (up to 70%), improved product quality with added value, ecological farming • The International Award 2019 “Innovative I 2019 International Award in Italy 8
Partnership with Japanese private sector • TOTTORI RESOURCE RECYCLING, INC.. “Water saving porous alpha system increases crops” • The main raw material of Porous Alpha is used glass bottles. They are crushed into a powder, then calcium carbonate is added. Once heated, the material becomes amorphous and porous. This structure allows it to retain water. • Impact : Greenhouse in Morocco, crop yields increased by 20% with 50% less water. 9
