Attendance and Grading policies ● Numeric grades will be issued (Grade Scale applies for Informal and Formal Assignments) A = 90 - 100 ❏ Formal (Test/Quiz/Projects) = 65% B = 80 - 89 ❏ Informal = 35% C= 70 - 79 D = 60 - 69 F = 59 and below ● No effort can result in a Failure ● Attendance will be taken every block throughout Zoom Meetings ● Missing scheduled Zoom Sessions = Unexcused Absence ○ Please contact school for planned/unplanned absences
Expectations for remote learning ● Participate in every scheduled Zoom Session ○ Students are Encouraged to have Video Camera on ● Join Zoom Sessions ON TIME (strive to sign in 5 minutes before start) ○ Links/Meeting Passwords will be posted in Canvas and will remain the same ● Wear appropriate attire during any Virtual Sessions ● Work in a Distraction Free Environment ○ Students should not be laying in bed during Virtual Sessions ● Complete ALL Assignments/Activities ○ Feedback will be provided in Canvas & PowerSchool ● Communicate with teachers via Canvas, Remind, and/or Email
English Language Arts What to Expect this... ● We will be reading some really great books this this year. All of them can be accessed digitally in your Sora account (accessed through Clever!) and all materials will be in Canvas. ○ Our first novel will be A Long Walk to Water. ■ If you need a hard copy of the text, please let Ms. Stegall know during the first week of classes. ● You will be expected to read and write (or type!) and contribute in the Zoom classes every day. I will hold office hours from 1:30-2:30 every day in Canvas Chat ●
SCIENCE What to expect this year: ● We will be using virtual notebooks in class this year for all of our classwork. You will need to join my Google Classroom to make your own copy! ○ Name of Class: Ms. Tatro’s Science Class (2020-2021) ○ Code: rrddlu2 ● I will have office hours every day from 2-3. The Zoom link will be posted on Canvas. This is a GREAT time to come with your study group to ask questions about classwork, or to come on your own for tutoring!
Social studies “If the truth is told, the youth can grow. They'll learn to What to expect this year: survive until they gain control.” ● Students will need to access CANVAS each day for - Nasir Jones class activities ● Note-taking activities will be completed using a Virtual Notebook My class is Reading and Writing Intensive ● so it is important to keep up with reading assignments and seek help when needed! ● I will have office hours every day from 1:30-2:30. The Canvas Chat and Zoom/Teams will be used during this time.
What to expect this year: MATH ● Students will receive traditional lessons, take down examples/notes, and practice problems each day via ZOOM Students will need a traditional spiral notebook dedicated ○ to math only ● Grades: 2-3 PowerSchool Assignments per week ○ 1 Summary Problem-Attic per week ■ Graded as students’ % score ○ 3-4 Open-Up Activities per week ■ Graded as a group of activities for asynchronous class participation based on how much is completed (0%, 50%, 70%, 85%, or 100%) ○ Test/Quizzes TBA ● Office hours from 1:30-2:30 p.m. each day ○ Text in ZOOM office session for help ○ Small groups focused on re-looping instruction as year progresses to fit the needs of students as needed
