  6. Institute IRB 6 INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARD  If the sponsor of a clinical trial or study intends to qualify for publication in a peer-reviewed or other journal the trial or study must first have its Protocol approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). The work of the IRB is to assure that proper ethical standards are maintained and that the safety and Informed Consent rights of participants are respected. This must occur prior to the start of the clinical trial or study.  The value added to IRB services by the Institute is that the Institute works directly with the PI (Principle Investigator) to draft a scientifically valid and IRB-compliant trial or study Protocol.

  7. Institute Continuing Education 7 The Institute sponsors Continuing Education training and certifications for PIs, practitioners, consultants and study or trial sponsors.

  8. Institute Funding Program 8 GOALS for 2020  Two Primary Goals: Support the Work of the Institute Support Public Advocacy for Better Outcomes

  9. Institute Funding Program -2 9  Support the Work of the Institute In general, provide funding to meet annual expenses Goal: $100,000  Support Public Advocacy for Better Outcomes Currently fund-raising for three programs: 1. Support the “Provider Non - Discrimination” Litigation Goal: $50,000 2. Support Counsel Patricia Finn’s “Learned Intermediary” case before the New York Courts, protecting physicians’ right to express Medical Exemptions [1] Goal: $50,000 3. Support the Autism Spectrum Clinical Trial for Ethically-Harvested Ovine-Placenta Based Formulation Initial Goal: $100,000 [1] http://www.opensourcetruth.com/good-health-lawyer-gains-tro-in-forced-vaccine-case/

  10. PROVIDER NON DISCRIMINATION 10 The Affordable Care Act - Section 2706(a), prohibits insurers from discriminating against healthcare providers who are acting within their legal scope of practice. In this case the Insurer is saying it doesn’t have to cover “alternative” medicine for its policy holders, even though the health care is being delivered by an MD, advanced practice nurses and a naturopath, working under them. What this means is that this case may be a proper vehicle to test the extent of the ACA’s “provider nondiscrimination” clause — this case may set a precedent forcing insurers to cover holistic and integrative care! 11. Conclusion 11 Benefits of Support for Growing the Institute: Improved health outcomes for ASD and other patients Better insurance coverage for advanced therapies Increased significance of Journal Prestige for The Woodlands Community The Institute for Health Research www.InHeRe.org
