Submit PhD manuscript: Steps to follow • Supervisor agrees that PhD manuscript is submitted (if not: submission is still possible but permission has to be obtained from FDC, after advise SC) • Before submission: check for plagiarism (Turnitin software = plagiarism prevention tool) | From next academic year onwards: mandatory, report to chair EC, explain high similarity (e.g. published papers) • Submit PhD manuscript at least 4 weeks before prelim to all EC members • Submit printed final PhD manuscript at least 2 weeks before public defence to FDC admin & all EC members https://set.kuleuven.be/phd/researchers/turnitin KULoket: Follow up on milestones 5
36 months presentation • The PhD researcher gives an oral presentation to the SC o WHAT? • A report of the performed research (courses, literature, experiments, observations, projects) • Time schedule for the final phase of the PhD • The doctoral training programme (should be completed) o WHY?
