Why UNRCPD? 1. UNRCPD can take the Asia-Pacific approach for Asia- Pacific region. It can be broken down for 5 subregional (Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Pacific) approach. 2. UNRCPD has direct and close contact with the Countries in the region and can provide prompt responses to requests from Countries. 3. Asia-Pacific region is very diverse so that the face to face relationships which UNRCPD has developed are key to the work undertaken by the Centre in assisting Countries.
