Achievements 2006-2010 FP6 period EuResist Integrated DataBase EuResist predictive engine Publications/workshops Post FP6 period - 2010 Not-profit organisation (GEIE) Inclusion of data from new scientific partners Data

  1. Achievements 2006-2010 FP6 period •EuResist Integrated DataBase •EuResist predictive engine •Publications/workshops Post FP6 period - 2010 •Not-profit organisation (GEIE) •Inclusion of data from new scientific partners •Data transfer to a substantial number of third parties •Publications/workshops/scientific meetings •Translation into Russian •Update of the EIDB and the EuResist predictive engine, Nov 2010 •Prediction of response without genotypic resistance data

  2. Achievements/planned activities from 2011 and onwards New EuResist Network web site www.euresist.org Private area : usual functions (blackboard, documents storage etc) plus WIKI for collaborative document writing Links to main EuResist tools •EuResist Prediction engine: www.engine.euresist.org •EuResist Satellite DB: www.satellite.euresist.org •EuResist for CHAIN: http://www.euresist.org/web/guest/chain

  3. Improved data catchment • EuResist Satellite DB • InfCare HIV

  4. International activities • ENEAA EDCTP project – Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia • PLANTA project – Central America • Other affiliated projects – DOTARV: Vietnam – HIVIND: India – Eastern promises: Russia (n=3)

  5. ENEAA EDCTP • EDCTP networking action " Integrated training activities and IT infrastructures to improve capacities in eastern African area « • Objective: to strengthen the capacities of the involved partners and countries to deal with the emerging issue of resistance to anti-HIV drugs. – To upgrade lab infrastructure; – To upgrade IT infrastructure; – To train people at the involved sites; – To merge the data into the EuResist Integrated DB (EIDB) and realise a resistance prediction engine able to support doctors in (East) Africa, based on the specific (East) African situation. • Partners are: Karolinska Institute, Area Vasta Toscana (M. Toti - M. Zazzi), Muhimbili Hospital (Tanzania – F. Mugusi – M. Bakari), Addis Ababa Univ. (Ethiopia, D Fekade – A Wonderwossen), Worlds friends Onlus - Neema Mamy Hospital (Kenya, G. F. Morino – N. Washington – M. Mwau), and EuResist as subcontractor and co- financing.

  6. PLANTA • The "Pediatric Latino-American Network for Treatment of Aids“ is developing a web based storage and analysis system of data of children with HIV/AIDS, common to all countries in Central America • Started in July 2010, PLANTA is based on intergovermental agreement of all the involved countries • PLANTA is funded by the Italian Cooperation for Development, under the direction of the Italian Latin American Institut (IILA) and in partnership with the Paediatric European Network for the treatment of AIDS (PENTA). • Coordinated by G. Donia (IILA) and G. Castelli Gattinara for the scientific side (Osp. Pediatrico Bambino Gesù – Planta) it involves: COSTA RICA , EL SALVADOR , GUATEMALA, HONDURAS , NICARAGUA , PANAMA • INFORMA is technical partner

  7. 2011- onwards • Include new anti-HIV drugs • Evaluate the potential use of HIV predictive engines in the regulatory situation (European Medicines Agency) • Involve new international partners and expand the database • Knowledge transfer, capacity building • Prediction of drug combination without resistance sequences • Prediction in therapy naive individuals • Hepatitis
