Textbooks: -Students can view textbooks on their iPad. -Students will bring home their math workbook. -At various times throughout the year, students will be bringing home class novels. This is in addition to their Academy Awards/BINGO novels they will read throughout the year. Technology: -Students and parents can access student work and assignments through Schoology. -Students and parents can view students grades through PowerSchool; Students can view their grades in Schoology as well. . -Students and parents can learn about upcoming grade-level and school information through Schoology updates, PowerSchool Bulletin (announcements), the new D23.org website, and Twitter. -Students and parents will be required to sign a Digital Citizenship Agreement form next week. This will connect to PRIDE (the new PARR). High School Placement Test: -All students attending D214 next year are required to take the placement test (the PSAT). The test is on Saturday, October 27th at 8 am at the high school your child will attend next year. The high schools will be mailing information home in October regarding registering for the test. We will be spending time in Advisory reviewing study skills and what to expect for this test. Field Trips: -At this time, students will be attending the IL Holocaust Museum in November in conjunction with our Holocaust unit in English class and the Navy Pier boat cruise in June as a last class trip. PRIDE: -This is the new PARR. Students will be expected to demonstrate positive behaviors in the classroom, around the school/campus, and at activities/events that follow the PRIDE categories.
