Fighting For Our Scholars Stood firm with my colleagues after several weeks of failed negations with the Administration in voting 15-0 to cut over $26 million in funding for programs --- in an effort to increase support for our youth! Our effort lead to the following investments: $10.4 million for Baltimore City Public Schools • over 3-years $2.58 million to support community schools and • after-school programs $1.5 million for Safe Streets anti-violence iniatiatve • $150,000 for the Maryland Food Bank to provide • meals for families in need $176,000 for the AARP Experience Corps • mentorship program 26
