  3. Work Mandate Serial Item Name Quantity Target date Remark No. (650 MHz RF Power) 1 250 W amplifier 1 Dec 2011 Achieved. Design improvement was module done for getting enhanced power. Fabricated and tested up to 550 W. 2 1 Dec 2012 Prototype testing 1 kW amplifier complete. 3 1 Dec 2014 Will be delivered 30 kW amplifier within proposed date.

  4. Progress Made Design, engineering prototyping and RF testing; completed for the following components • 550 W solid state amplifier module (earlier 450 W) • Wide-Band Directional Couplers • 2-way 8 kW and 18 kW Power combiners • 16-way 4 kW Power combiner • Coaxial Transitions

  5. 550 W module at 650 MHz • At 650 MHz, Design studies and simulation have been carried out using push-pull LDMOS device, operating at bias voltage of 50 V . • Using multi-mode class F operating mode, a new amplifier module was designed and tested in stages, up to 550 W. Earlier developed module was up to 450 W. 550 W solid state amplifier module

  6. 550 W module: Measured Result Saturated power = 600 W Gain at 550 W: 17 dB Input VSWR: 1.1 P 1dB : 500W

  7. 1 kW amplifier demonstration Saturated power = 1100 W

  8. 650 MHz, passive RF Components Developed at RRCAT 16-way 4 kW Power combiner Output Port: 1- 5/8” EIA 2-way 8 kW and 18kW Power combiners Output port: 3- 1/8” EIA 1 kW 4 kW 20 kW Coaxial Transitions 3- 1/8” EIA to 1 - 5/8” EIA Wide-Band Directional Couplers 1- 5/8” EIA to N Type

  9. Work plan - 2012 • Design and RF circuit simulation of power amplifier module with efficiency > 60%. - Complete • Compact design of power dividers (complete) and combiners • Improved directivity design for directional coupler • Design and testing of 1 kW amplifier- successful prototype testing • Study of amplitude and phase synchronization scheme • Development of control and HMI hardware/software- First set of software ready
