  28. Registration procedure for Pesticides in Bangladesh At first documents have to be submitted to the Plant Protection Wing (PPW) of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) Scrutinizing the documents by the registration authority Chemical test of the product in the PPW laboratory. But if it is new molecule, then the product must be sent to the Department of Environment for Environment clearance certificate that the product is safe for the environment Then the application will be submitted before the PTASC meeting for the approval of field trials Then the sample (Formulated product) together with technical documents will be sent to the concern research organizations for conducting bio-efficacy trial of the product as per decision of above mentioned the PTASC meeting.

  29. Registration procedure for Pesticides in Bangladesh Research Institute will conduct two seasons and two locations field trial. But if it is new molecule, then the product must be sent to the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) for fish toxicity report that the product is not toxic to fish After successfully completion of two season and two locations field trial & fish toxicity test of the product, the field trial & fish toxicity reports will be sent to the PPW of DAE for onward submission to PTASC meeting for the recommendation for registration. Finally, the application will be submitted to the Pesticide Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) meeting for the final approval of registration in Bangladesh. After getting the registration certificate of the product from the registration authority, the product need to get Import licence, Repacking licence, Wholesale licence, Advertisement Licence and Formulation licence (if necessary).

  32. Reasons Behind Increase and Decrease of Pesticide Consumption in 2015 (KL/MT) Reasons Ex Depot sales of BCPA Since last few years members of BCPA have been member companies are introducing/marketing new molecules and new decreased by 15.45% in 2015 formulations crop protection products, which are compare to 2014 environment friendly, low toxic, low dose and covers wide areas. Sales of granular insecticides i) Environment friendly new molecules having low were decreased by 25.85% dose were introduced. than the previous year ii) Cultivated land area has been decreased from Previous Year. Sales of liquid insecticides i) Powder formulations of combined insecticide were decreased by 12.76% in become popular (easy to carry and use) over 2015 liquid insecticides. ii) Infestation of Stem Borer was very low throughout the country.

  33. Reasons Behind Increase and Decrease of Pesticide Consumption in 2015 (KL/MT) Reasons Sales of powder insecticides Periodic infestation of Brown Plant Hopper were increased by 9.25% (BPH), Leaf Roller, Case worm, Gall midge etc. in Rice, Cutworm in Potato, Sucking pests in Vegetable, Helopeltis in Tea, Caterpillar in Jute etc. Sales of Sulphur were decreased Due to decrease of acreage of rice and by 24.80% regulatory hurdle. Sales of Fungicides (General) in Disease outbreak of sheath blight, blast, late 2015 were increased by 10.51% blight of tomato and potato. compare to year 2014 Sales of Herbicides were Increase of labor cost increased by 33.45% in 2015 from previous year Sales of Miticide were increased Mainly used on Tea and Vegetables because by 5% in 2015 favorable climate situation facilitated Mite infestation
