Carson Hickey Automotive Refinishing - Redwood Continuation School Instructor: Mr. Daniel Pareja Speech Carson has been a stand our student among his peers because of his love for cars. He shares his passion with his peers. Currently Carson is interning for an internationally known custom body shop and is dedicated to the work he does there. Mr. Pareja believes that one day he will be watching Carson on a reality TV show and he will be telling his then students about how Carson got his start right here at Eden Area ROP. Cindy Nguyen Merchandising Occupations – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Ms. Cheryl Grixti Speech Cindy has been nominated because of her enthusiasm, leadership and her fabulous character. She has a wonderful zest for life and is a great role model for her peers. Cindy has outstanding work ethics and a passion for doing what is right. Student of the Year 2019-20 CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
Dimitri Stafford Welding Technology – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Ms. Barbara Juarez Speech Dimitri is extremely dedicated, talented and has a personality that shines. He is trustworthy, reliable, productive, and creative. He is dedicated and focused on having a successful career in welding. Dimitri has become a role model in class by taking leader roles and through assisting with supervising groups and delegating clean up duties to his peers. Dimitri is a two-time winner at the Skills USA Regionals Competition for sculptures. Student of the Year 2019-20 CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
Evelyn Reyes Medical Careers I – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Ms. Alysa Machado Speech Evelyn has excelled in everything taught in Medical Careers, both in theory and skills. She has maintained a true sense of professionalism and is always the first to answer questions and supports her peers simultaneously. Isabella Siu Marketing – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Michelle Stephens Speech Isabella has been a born leader inside and outside of the classroom. She always takes the initiative to keep team members on track and encourages them to stay focused. She is very involved in the community by taking lead roles in various clubs and actually making a difference. Isabella has this innate love of learning and willingness to get involved and make a difference. This passion is inspiring to those within her space of influence. Jospeh Randall First Responders – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Ms. Marlene McDowell Joseph has demonstrated excellent leadership skills through leading drills and marching, participating in sophomore tours, becoming a member of SkillsUSA and participating in Region I First Aid/CPR competition. Joseph enjoys acquiring new skills through studying and practice. He shows deep understanding of the subjects taught in class. Lauren Madan Business – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Michelle Stephens Speech Lauren is the President of Castro Valley DECA and has led the club at the district and state conferences, with qualifying spots at the International Career Development conference. She has demonstrated leadership, resourcefulness, and enthusiasm in and out of the classroom. She has helped facilitate marketing projects with CVUSD, Operations Christmas Child with Three Crosses, and the Wellness Centers Suicide Awareness concert. Lauren’s enthusiasm is infectious. Makaela Yoshida Careers In Education – Castro Valley High School Instructor: Ms. Erika Emery Speech Makaela is a self-driven and upbeat young lady, who has demonstrated confidence and integrity at all times. She has shown great leadership qualities and has developed an incredibly professional portfolio which she used to mentor first year students. Makaela is driven and dedicated to a career in Education. She produces creative assignments that translate to various age groups. She has been accepted at San Jose State University and will do extremely well in her future endeavors. Citlally Rivera Construction Technology – Mt. Eden High School Instructor: Mr. Bill Deslaurier Speech Citlally has the ability to grasp and execute critical construction concepts, whose behavior has set the example for others to follow. Citlaly has integrity, professionalism, leadership, character, work ethic and a positive demeanor. She has routinely demonstrated the ability to comprehend, plan, organize and execute complicated construction tasks, attributes not common in today’s work force. Citlaly received a Bronze medal in the Skills USA Construction Competition. Student of the Year 2019-20 CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
Daryn Young Entrepreneurship – Hayward High School Instructor: Mr. Rick Charles Daryn impressed the NFTE Advisory Board and President with his film script project. He is a finalist in the Hayward High School Business Plan competition and is advancing to the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship Regional Finals where he will compete for an opportunity to represent Eden Area ROP/Hayward High School at the NFTE National Championships in New York City. Davis Sok Entrepreneurship – Tennyson High School Instructor: Ms. Zennaita Bradford Davis Sok is a well rounded student, who is highly motivated and dedicated to his education and future. He would put in longer hours than the average student and memorized all his pitches for his projects. He desires to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Davis feels the skills he learned in EAROP Entrepreneurship class are “essential in economics and life overall, and will be his guiding force in evaluating costs, structuring presentations, and wholehearted dedication towards and during his future career as an Astronautical Engineer.” Student of the Year 2019-20 CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
Elias Martinez Sports Medicine – Mt. Eden High School Instructor: Mr. Mikel Jackson Elias was chosen because of his passion for education and his dedication to seeking advancement in the medical field. He is very mature, polite and outspoken. Elias asked thoughtful question and is always helpful to others. He is an active member of the inaugural Sports Medicine Club and has helped provide first aid services for athletes. He is an integral part of the teams routine care. Eliza Corrales Entrepreneurship – Mt. Eden High School Instructor: Ms. Vanita Lee-Tatum Speech Eliza is a talented young entrepreneur who has modeled the attributes of personal excellence, integrity and professionalism. She has excelled in the areas of collaboration, innovation and leadership. Eliza is passionate about helping and bettering our environment. Isaiah Rehberg Automotive Technology II - Mt. Eden High School Instructor: Mr. David Espinoza Isaiah is very smart, funny and has excellent soft skills. He gets on with everyone in the class which is a needed skill in this trade. He is the Auto Tech II SOY because he would do everything that was asked of him. Isaiah enjoys doing the hands on work which others shy away from. He would always come to class ready to work and with a big smile on his face. Student of the Year 2019-20 CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
Jacqueline Martinez Medical Careers I Hayward High School Instructor: Mr. Charles Bunbury/Ms. Alysa Machado Speech Jacqueline has shown great ability with her regular attendance and exceptional grades. She shows great leadership skills by participating in group projects and taking lead when necessary. She has also helped many of her classmates to succeed.
